Restoring a redirected site back to WordPress.com

A wordpress.com premium site was built. The domain was registered with GoDaddy. About 1 month ago, a decision was made to build a new site for the domain on wordpress.org which has not worked out. The nameservers were previously redirected on GoDaddy from wordpress.com to siteground and an ‘add on domain’ and 301 redirects set up through cPanel so that visitors to lizahgoldmd.com would be directed to a site psychgoldmd.com. Since then, the owner has decided she would prefer not to use the WordPress.org site and return to her WordPress.com site. Is the site still available as designed inasmuch as if we restore the nameservers to wordpress.com, cancel the cPanel settings for an addon domain and delete the 301 redirects, matters will return to the prior circumstances–i.e. the original wordpress.com designed site, on wordpress.com under the domain lizahgoldmd.com as a premium account?

  • Hi –

Yep, the site is still available on the free version at https://lizahgoldmd.wordpress.com/. You can take a look at it in your browser.

After you point the name servers back to WordPress.com the address bar in your browser will show the custom domain of lizahgoldmd.com again instead of the free WordPress.com site, which is https://lizahgoldmd.wordpress.com/.

    Any questions about that?

In order to work on the site you’ll need to be signed in to a different account though. It is set up under the lhgoldmd account.
