Za helpHello,
I need help with domain and site that I deleted, but didn’t know that I can’t use it with another provider. My domain was maurana.com. How long do I have to wait to be available to puchase in in the future? Or can I restore it and then transfer? And isn’t there a 5 days grace period for domain to for end and then used it with another provider? I deleted the domain 5 days ago.
I really didn’t know about this. Can you please somehow help me? My profile is 2ana3.Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there,
To clarify the situation, domains are released within 5 days if they’re canceled within the first five days of registration. In your case, your domain was registered almost a month ago. Therefore, when you canceled it, the domain entered what we call a redemption period. You can learn more about this redemption period here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period
To restore a domain from redemption, there is a fee of $80. If you are willing to proceed with this fee, I can arrange to send you a payment form, and then we can move forward with restoring the domain for you.
In the future, if you wish to use your domain with another provider, the best practice would be to point it to that provider while it’s still active. Once the domain is unlocked, you can then transfer it to them.
If you have any further questions or need more clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hello,
thank you for your anwser and help.
I’m willing to proceed with fee, mention above. After payment how long will it take to unlocked domain?
Best

And one more question: after payment, will I still have to wait for 60 days to then transfer domain to another provider?
-
Hi @2ana3, please check your email for a payment request from Automattic. Once that’s paid, we can work on restoring the domain; typically, that will be done within one day of payment.
And I believe transfer lock is from the date you register the domain or update its contact info, so this shouldn’t affect that. You can always point the domain to another host in the meantime if you’d like, by changing the nameservers or using DNS settings they provide.
Or, if you want to host the site here after all, we can restore the Premium plan at your request and provide any help you need in getting started. Let us know!

So if I understand correct, after payment and restoring the domain, I can point domain immediately to another provider?
Thank you for your help!

Hi there!
So if I understand correct, after payment and restoring the domain, I can point domain immediately to another provider?
Yes, that is correct. I see that you paid already, so I restored your deleted site (the free site) so that you can access your domain settings. The domain has also been redeemed.
If you’d like to point the domain to another host, you can ask your host for their nameservers and add them to WordPress.com by following these steps. Within 72 hours of adding custom nameservers, your domain will be pointing to your desired host.
Hope that helps! Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
