Retrieving a lost domain

I recently had a client come to me looking for a website redesign,

They purchased the domain through WordPress however the employee in charge of building the site years ago left on bad terms. Now the domain has expired and my client has no way of asking for it back.

My question would be, is it possible to claim a domain that has expired? and how would we go about doing this, my client is set on not losing the domain.

The message that I am receiving is this.

‘clients domain’ is not available at the domain clientsdomain.com right now. This domain expired, and it has to be renewed before it is lost.

We already notified this site’s owners. However, renewing expired domains becomes more costly and complicated as time goes by. We want to make sure they got the message.

If you know this site’s owners, please get in touch and remind them to renew this domain before it’s too late.

  • We have absolutely no history of domains, sites, purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into.

What is the domain you’re trying to renew?

As I mentiond it is for a client. I only just created this account to simply ask the question.

    The domain is synergyroofingnc.com

  • This particular domain can still be renewed by its owner at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

Again, as I stated, my client no longer has access to the account that the domain was purchased under.

Is there a way to purchase that domain (synergyroofingnc.com) under a fresh account.

The person who originally purchased the domain is not longer with us and now one has access to their account.

  • Please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com explaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.
