Reusable Blocks
-
When I use reusable blocks in WP post editor, I copy paste the embed code into /shortcode format (I’ve also tested HTML).
The code works.
I save it as a Reusable block.
I use that block as a CTA 2x in the blog post.
Then, I use that reusable block CTA (which now has a little ‘lego block’ symbol over it), in 1-2 more blogs, using the block 2x each post.
By the 3rd or post post of using this block, the symbol beside the Reusable Block’s name, has changed from a ‘Lego block’ symbol, to a black box with white shapes inside.
When this happens, the reusable block no longer works.
I can go into Manage Reusable Blocks, click on the block that was just working 1-2 blog posts previously, but now, when I look in the code, the embed code that was previously there, is empty.
The code vanishes.
So I re-paste the HTML code.
But could someone clue me in on what is happening here?
Many thanks!

Hi there,
I do not see any sites under your @deeselfpublishingschoolcom WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login? Is it the case that you are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

Hi staff-totoro!
Thanks for your prompt reply. I’ve reached out to our Systems Admin to find out. :)
In the meantime, when I go to Reusable Blocks, the ones where the code is vanishing, I find this code in the place of the previous HTML code.
We are using a Hubspot CTA embed code for CTAs in our blog posts.
Here is a sample code when it IS working. :)
[sps_cta_box class=”yellow”]
<!–HubSpot Call-to-Action Code –><span class=”hs-cta-wrapper” id=”hs-cta-wrapper-b808b898-a422-46c7-b78e-7b9932482108″><span class=”hs-cta-node hs-cta-b808b898-a422-46c7-b78e-7b9932482108″ id=”hs-cta-b808b898-a422-46c7-b78e-7b9932482108″><!–[if lte IE 8]><div id=”hs-cta-ie-element”></div><![endif]–>
</span>https://js.hscta.net/cta/current.js<script type=”text/javascript”> hbspt.cta.load(4208601, ‘b808b898-a422-46c7-b78e-7b9932482108’, {“region”:”na1″}); </script></span><!– end HubSpot Call-to-Action Code –>
[/sps_cta_box]It looks like this on a blog post:

Sorry. Weird. When I copied/pasted the code, it did not paste. :/
I am pasting it again, but in case it does something weird, here is a screenshot of the code.

Also…it appears the forum formatted my HTML for me in the large block of HTML above.
Here is a screenshot of that code. :)
Super thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!
