Reverting to Free Plan

When setting up my blog, I meant to make a blog under the free plan, but accidentally went for a paid plan. I am a student and don’t have the funds for a paid plan. Is there a way to correct this mistake without closing my account and starting all over? Thanks!

No worries! If you have recently purchased the domain then you can cancel the plan and get the refund in first 30 days.
To learn more about refunds please visit our support document here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/Can you please visit the “Purchases page” and then request the refund from there.
Note: Requesting refund won’t close your account so enjoy your free plan.
Upgrading is optional, features are also the option if you wish to use those
then only you need to upgrade.When you cancel the plan, your website will be using “.wordpress.com” at the end, you’ll just have to make it primary on the Domains page once you are on Domains page.

I don’t see any upgrades in the account you’re using to post here. http://jacobinchinacom.wordpress.com/ is on the free plan. For what site did you buy an upgrade?
