  My friend and I used to run a blog through WordPress however he did not renew it. I wanted to know how if it’s possible to retroactively renew this website and transfer ownership to me?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @theemattb, you would need to contact the owner of the domain name (if you do not own it) and have them transfer ownership of it to you at the registrar and then log into that registrar account and change the DNS nameservers to point at WordPress.com as explained here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  You will also have to upgrade your account the Personal, Premium or Business plan so that you can then map that domain to your site here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
