Rogue ads on my pages
-
An organization called USAFIS keeps adding links to my blog pages without my permission. The links take you to some green card service that looks very dodgy. Anyway, I don’t want the links, obviously, and I don’t know how they are getting there. I’ve paid WordPress so that my blog doesn’t carry ads. I thought that would solve the problem, but it hasn’t. I have to go through my blog posts and retype over the links to remove them — something I’ve just done, so you won’t see any on the site right now.
Could you please tell me what’s going on and how I can get rid of this pest.
Thanks.

Irony of ironies: USAFIS has added a link to my query. Presumably, if I type green card again, the same thing will happen . . .

Hi there, these types of links are often caused by an extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
Could you please try turning off all your Firefox extensions and add-ons? Here are instructions for doing that:
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons
If the links disappear, you can try reactivating the add-ons/extensions one-by-one to find the culprit that’s been inserting the links.
If this doesn’t work, the links may be being inserted by malware or a virus on your computer. You can try running anti-malware or anti-virus software to find the source.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating malware and adware:
