Rss feed doesn't correctly create media enclosures
-
I can’t play my media from my podcast feed. It plays fine on my blog, but from my feed reader, the media is missing.
When I look at the feed, it’s in media tags. What are those – not html or rss, are they? I was expecting to see an enclosure tag.
The blog & feed are:
http://healthbusinessblog.com/category/podcast
http://healthbusinessblog.com/category/podcast/feedAs you can see the media file is playable on the website & is listed in the xml, but not correctly. Is there some trick or configuration I’m missing?
Thanks for the help

Hi there,
Can you let me know what feed reader you are using?
The media:content tag is the standard for displaying media files in XML/RSS feeds, and the .mp3 files are displaying properly in your feed, so it’s possible there is an issue with your feed reader.

That’s interesting. I’ve only familiar with RSS enclosures. Can you point to some references?
So feedly is the feed reader I’m using that isn’t working. Also my podcasts are no longer playable in iTunes.
I recently migrated the site to WP.com from a self-hosted one. Prior to that, the media files worked in iTunes & in feedly.
Have you tried the feed to confirm it actually works? If so, in which reader did you have success?
Thanks

Sure thing! You can read about how the media:content tag works here: http://www.rssboard.org/media-rss#media-content

I am taking a look at this with my team and will let you know what we find out! I checked the feed using Reeder, which worked fine, but we will take a look at Feedly, too.
Also my podcasts are no longer playable in iTunes.
Making your podcast available through iTunes is actually a bit trickier, but we have a complete guide for how to set it up here: Podcasting
If you have any questions about that, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help further.

The podcasts are now playable in iTunes and feedly. Perhaps an artifact of the recent migration?
Thanks

Thanks for letting me know that they are working again! It’s very possible that iTunes and Feedly simply had a glitch due to the recent move. :) If you have any other questions or concerns about this, please let me know.
