  Why do Ads appear in my blog when I have not enabled them?
  I understand that I need to upgrade to NoAds.
  Then, once I upgrade, can I run my own ads?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No, if you buy the No Ads upgrade you will have no ads on your blog. Whether or not you have the upgrade, putting your own ads on the site will get your blog suspended.
