  We’re trying to open a website for our lab, but in order to upgrade to a paid website we need someone from sales to help us with some bureaucracy (we need to make wordpress a vendor at our institute).

  We’re not trying to do either of those. We’re a research lab at a university, and we need to approve WordPress as a vendor at our institute in order to pay. So, we need to contact someone from sales.
