Scheduled posts in calendar not showing days with scheduled events
-
This used to work great (for the past year) but in the last week, suddenly the calendar doesn’t have a circle around dates that already have posts scheduled. I’ve looked through the forums and I can’t find anyone talking about it. I tried different browsers and can’t figure out how to fix it. Can anyone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m getting responses in Tweets telling me nothing is wrong and to use the forums. Nothing is getting answered here…

I’m just talking to a brick wall. Not sure anyone out there is running into a similar issue or if the forum is just unhelpful, in general. Still, I tried downloading the desktop app and it randomly shows some scheduled posts with a circle over a date, but it will leave out other dates, sometimes entire months, as is also acting oddly. Still no idea why

Hi there,
The scheduling calendar is showing circles around the dates for all published and scheduled posts for me:

If that’s not what you’re seeing, please try clearing your browser cache and cookies. If that doesn’t help, please let me know exactly what browser and version you’re using, and also check if it works in a different browser.
You can find your browser version here:
This is a peer support forum staffed by volunteers, and support staff only reply to threads that are specifically flagged for our attention.
On Twitter you provided neither a site URL, nor a link to this thread. All we have to go on there is the site listed in your profile, which is a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software for which we don’t provide support. We can’t reply to a thread if we don’t know where it is.

I was starting to wonder if once you have a certain number of posts, and scheduled posts, if it starts messing it up. It has been very erratic, but it was working so well for about a year. I’ll try your suggestions

What might be happening here is that your browser is taking a while to fetch the data from all the scheduled and published posts and rendering them on the calendar – I did notice a slight delay on my end when opening the calendar before the info appeared.
-
Sadly, that didn’t seem to work, either. I am even leaving a window open for a while to see if it eventually fetches data, but nothing after a couple minutes. Again, this never used to be this way until this new layout where everything is on the right. Was there some kind of update that might be affecting things? I might go and try and make sure absolutely everything is updated

Interesting anomaly: If I used the WordPress app, I can see older months (circles appear on posts that have already happened) but no circles on future months, even on days I am certain things are scheduled. Something is definitely off
-
To clarify even further, since it is even more bizarre: In the WordPress desktop app, it circles future dates in the current month (March) but not any dates in any future months, after March.
The plot thickens. Still not working in a regular browser window
-
I know this is silly, but I’ll ask, anyway. There have been 398 published posts, and there are 110 scheduled posts. It’s not possible that the number of posts is somehow affecting anything? I think I once had 160 scheduled posts, and it was working fine, but that was back when I only had maybe 200-300 posts already published
-
Strange. I checked the editor on your site itself, and it’s showing all scheduled dates for me. For example, here is the calendar for May on your site:

Did you try clearing your browser cache and cookies? How about a different browser?
If this is happening in the app as well it could be a connection issue, so also try resetting your modem/router by unplugging it for a few seconds, and if possible see if the same thing happens over a different internet connection.
There hasn’t been a recent update to the desktop app, and while the browser editor was updated last week, I don’t see the problem on my end so I don’t think that’s the cause. I don’t think it’s related to the number of posts either – if it were it wouldn’t work for me.

I went nuclear on my system. I nuked the cache, updated every app and the OS, etc. Unplugged the router. I reset every possible thing I could think of. It finally seems to be working in the WordPress app.
I have no idea what was causing it, and it was a lot of frustration (and the website still doesn’t seem to be working perfectly for me, btw), but at least the WordPress app seems to finally be working properly.
Thank you for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

I’m glad to hear it’s working in the app now.
Can you please tell me what browser you are using? Does a different browser make any difference?
