Search for blog finds WordPress Theme first…

Search engines find my blog via the query, “healing sound healing touch” in “theme.wordpress.com/credits/…” [http://theme.wordpress.com/credits/healingsoundhealingtouch.com/] *before* they find it under my own domain name [http://healingsoundhealingtouch.com/].

The Domain Helper [http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/] confirms that everything is set up correctly, and yes, I had already set Dashboard > Settings > Reading > Site Visibility to “Allow search engines to index this site” back when I published the site in November of 2013.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I see that your site is being indexed by search engines. One thing you can do is focus on optimizing your site for search, which should begin to rank higher than the theme page. (And in the long run, it’ll most likely help your search engine results to be linked from the theme page.)

Here are some other links with tips to increase traffic and optimize your site for search engines:

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know about an update on this issue you mentioned.

Our developers made some changes to the theme credits page, which should remove it from search engines. That should make your blog itself rise to the top of the search results when someone searches for it. :)
