  when searching my blog name with wordpress.com attached- its not coming up??? I haven’t posted anything yet, can that be it?

  Yes that is it – when you publish a Post your blog calls up the search engines and asks them to stop by – that is what gets your blog indexed by search engines – blog more – it can also take 4 to 6 or more weeks for a new blog to be indexed
