Security Bot??
-
Hi WordPress and Users,
Recently I received a comment on my “About Us” page on my website from “Security Bot”. What the comment says is ‘This website breaks copyrights. Shut down or face the fines.’ The email links to WordPress: (email visible only to moderators and staff), but I don’t know if someone has spoofed wordpress. The comment does not tell me what infringements I have broken, and if this is serious, why must I shut down my site or pay fines when I could just remove these infringements? If you would like to have a look it’s here: http://techreviews360.com/about/
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have never heard of this “security bot”. If and when there are TOS violations found on a wordpress.COM blog wordpress.com Staff pace a waring on your dashboard containing a link. I suggest you immediately report this to Staff. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Definitely contact support about it. I don’t think it is a legitimate email from wordpress.COM.

Neither do I so maybe I should have said – Do not respond to that email – it’ looks phisy. Contact Staff immediately.

Comment on your profile? Well, I guess I’ll have to go and find the “disable” option, assuming there is one.

wordpress.co.uk is not owned by WordPress.com or Automattic. It sounds like a spoofed message anyway though. It would be helpful to see the mail headers if you can provide those when contacting support.

One of my colleagues tried to email the person earlier on today, the message failed to make it to the recipitant, showing that it was an spoofed “hacked” sort-of email.
