Security issue

  I have someone I blocked on my site who is sending me inappropriate messages. I have blocked his email but I think he is using another. Is there a way for wordpress to look and see what IP address he is using and block it?

  Is this on https://thetoelessrunner.com/?

  That site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We have no control over your comments on that site.

  In the comments management section at WP-Admin ->Comments you should be able to see the IP address for every commenter on your site, and you can add that to the blacklist at WP-Admin ->Settings ->Discussion. But that block is just as easy to bypass by just using a VPN, so won’t be any more effective than blocking the email address.

  IPs also aren’t unique to specific individuals, so by blocking that IP you could potentially be blocking other people as well who get assigned that same IP by their internet service provider. For this reason, blocking by IP is generally not recommended.
