Security: somebody created account for my friend

  Hi,

  My friend woke up today with email box full with emails informing him that a WordPress account was created for him.

  Now, he is trying to figure out how this is even possible… he has never used WordPress before… and yet, now, he has an account + site on WordPress:

  Can anyone advice what could happen?

  If security team is reading this… please, help us figure his out.

  An account cannot be created without an email confirmation. Or your friend confirmed that wordpress.com account himself, or someone else has full access to his email account. But there certainly isn’t a security problem on our side.
