Hello there! Can you please help me with 3 front Page Widget Area? I cannot figure out how to do it. I tried everything but I cannot get it. Please walk me through what widget I can use to make it appear like the Sela Theme Demo.

“Three front-page widget areas, displayed side-by-side in columns. This is where you can get creative and use any of the available widgets to feature products or services, or showcase different parts of your website. On the theme demo this section is populated with text widgets, one in each front-page widget area.”

Hi. The three widget areas mentioned in the Sela theme support page, and seen on the front page of the demo, are confusingly called by WP the first, second, and third Front Page Sidebars, despite the fact that they appear in the main column of the front page and not in a sidebar.

The demo uses text widgets. The theme support page tells you that, but doesn’t provide a clue as to how to construct them. Also, the three widgets areas of the Sela demo closely resemble the three featured page areas of the Goran and Edin theme Front Page Templates. The choice of using the three widgets on the front page of the Sela demo to link to examples of three optional page templates is arbitrary. Briefly, here’s how the front page widget areas seen in the demo were populated:

    1. The title is created in the title field found at the top of most WP widgets.
    2. The image can be created easily in a post or page editor. Just upload an image in visual mode and create a link to the destination URL of your choice as described in the Text Widget Links support page.
    3. The excerpt of the text seen below the image may be created by typing HTML code directly in a text widget, or created with the aid of the “Insert/edit Link” tool in an post or page editor, then copied in text mode and pasted into the widget. The destination of the Read More link would be the same page that the image links to.

Note that while in the demo only one widget has been placed in each of the front page widget areas, each area may each contain multiple widgets.

Inadvertently omitted from step 2 above:
After creating the image link in visual mode of a post or page editor, switch to text mode. Copy, and paste into the widget.
