Selling items on my wordpress account.

Hi my name is Jay. I have a basic wordpress account I believe I upgraded my layout but that is it. I am subscribed to wordpress.com and not wordpress.org. My current dilemma is that I want to put our company hats on sale for purchase on our merchandise page on our wordpress site apothemovement.com but all of the videos Im seeing dont make sense to me bec I am not a tech savy expert. I keep seeing people say download this plug-in or search this plug-in but I can’t find any place where a plug-in is located on my wordpress. With me having a wp.com is it possible for me to do this? If so I need the simplest step by step instructions I mean abc instructions that I can understand on how to set up an item for purchase and shopping cart. Please help I’ve discovered how to operate everything except this aspect and our site is now 90% complete. This will complete our site. We have a launching party in Aug and I don’t want any information coming soon on any of our pages. It would be a blessing to have everything in order. It would be so great to just talk to someone on the phone but nevertheless I appreciate anyone that can help even if i have to read the instructions. Can I use a standard account for these services or do I need to switch, but if I switch can I still keep our same set up. Please let me know, Thanks in advance.

If you’d like a store on your website, so you can sell merchandise and have a shopping cart, you’ll need our WordPress.com Business plan: http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/
That plan includes eCommerce features that you can use here at WordPress.com: eCommerce
You can upgrade your site at apothemovement.com to the Business plan, so you won’t need to re-do the site — adding the Business plan to that site will get you the eCommerce features you need. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Yes I do have questions.
Again please give me a step by step direction, I am not the best at maneuvering these things. We want to do whatever we need to do to get our sales items on our page without having to change anything. I looked at the link above and I’m still not clear on the process. Would we have to pay $299 or would we just have to pay an upgrade fee?

Sure thing. Upgrading your blog to the WordPress.com Business plan is $299/year, and that will allow you to add an eCommerce section to your website. You won’t be able to create the kind of store you mentioned without that WordPress.com Business plan.
To do that, you can go to the Store page in your site’s dashboard here:
https://apothemovement.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php
On that page, look for the “WordPress.com Business” option. You can click the “Buy Now” button to upgrade to that plan now, or you can click “Try Now” for a 14-day free trial.
Once you have WordPress.com Business, you will be able to set up one of the eCommerce options mentioned here: eCommerce
The exact steps for setting up that shop depend on which eCommerce site you choose, and there are links on that page to the instructions for setting up each one. We can also help you integrate that store with your site once you get to that stage.
