Selling of my details

  Since buying my domain I have been flooded with emails regarding setting up of a website / seo etc etc – all in relation to the domain I bought. I didnt agree that you could pass or sell my details on and I would like you to explain why this has happened.

  Hi Michelle,

  When you purchase a domain without private registration, your domain registration details are public. You can see that public information here:

  http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=schmusings.com

  Unfortunately, spammers like to take advantage of those public registration details to send domain-related spam. One way to avoid that is to purchase private registration for your domain. You can do that with these steps:

  1. Go to the My Domains page.
  2. Click on the Settings button (with the cog icon) for the relevant domain, and then click on Add Private Registration.
  3. Select your payment method, enter your payment information, then click Purchase Private Registration.
  4. Your registration information is now hidden from the public.
