Send email from custom email domain

    I am thinking about upgrading to the personal plan but there’s one thing about the custom email domain that is still unclear to me. As far as I know, emails sent to wordpress custom email address can be forwarded to my existing gmail account, but is there any way I can reply to that email from the custom address?

    I know that the paid G Suite plan allows that but is there any way the free gmail can do that too since it would be quite strange for my readers to send to a custom email address and receive replies from a @gmail.com account. Or is there any way I can send emails with the wordpress domain without having to purchase any other hosting service?
