    Hi, I am an author and am trying to set up a website to promote my books, all of which I have self-published and am finding it difficult to organise this. The picture I added is the opening picture I wish to have and the name Andrea’s Library , the same as my Facebook page. I can’t see to work out how to make my website and add pages and stories, pictures and other information.

    Hi there,

    To clarify, when you first set up your WordPress.com site, it shows the blog post “feed” on the homepage… this is set up to show your blog posts as you publish them.

    You are trying to set up more of a static “welcome” page or homepage instead?

    I noticed that you have created a blog post called “introduction” but are you trying to make this your homepage instead? Or are you in fact trying to display blog posts on your homepage and trying to make this post appear in the feed there?

    Also, out of curiosity, Do you happen to have any sites (does not have to be WordPress) that you are drawing inspiration from or trying to emulate? If so it may help to see that as an example, thanks!

    I don’t want to write Blogs, I merely wish to set up a website to advertise the books I write and publish then to update as and when required. I’ve totally misunderstood the order of setting everything up. I want a simple structure, front page to say who I am and what books I’ve written and published. The other site I have, if you can call it that, is my facebook page Andrea’s Library where I’ve listed the books, links to Amazon for each book plus a little bit about the books. I thought it would be so simple to do this. Years ago I had a website to promote my business Fair Lady Fashions, I used to recreate vintage fashion, this no longer exists and was trying to do something similar to that. I did not set up that website. It merely showed photographs of the clothes I made etc.
