Setting old site to private
-
Hello,
Whomever was the site administrator for our church’s old website (clarindarpchurch.wordpress.com) no longer can find the login credentials to edit and update that site with current information for our church. Could you please set that site to ‘private’ so that it no longer shows up in search engine results?
Thank you!
Jonathan Haney, pastor

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out – can you tell me if you’re able to access the WordPress.com account connected to clarindarpchurch.wordpress.com please?
If yes, you should be able to change the password via: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
I hope this helps so far.

No cannot access the WordPress.com account connected to clarindarpchurch.wordpress.com .
That page was set up many years ago, and whomever created it is no longer in our area, and if that person passed on the account information to someone else in the church, no one knows who might have it.
I’ve looked through the WordPress information pages, and in the case where the account information cannot be accessed or verified, it says I can request that the page be set to private, so that it no longer shows up in search engine results.
So, I am requesting that clarindrpchurch.wordpress.com be set to “private.”
Thank you!

Hello there,
Ok, when clicking on this link: https://wordpress.com/home can you tell me what you’re seeing please?
Many thanks.
-
That takes me to “My Home” for the account clarindachurch.wordpress.com
This is the current WordPress page that I set up upon becoming the new pastor of the Clarinda Reformed Presbyterian Church.
The OLD page, the one which I am trying to get set to private (since I have no way of establishing access to the account) is clarindaRPchurch.wordpress.com
Thanks,
Jonathan
