Setting up cPanel
-
I’ve upgraded to WordPress.com so that I can have file access and actually have control of code. I’m using Hostgator for a server, have registered and transferred the domain , and can view files without an issue. Despite what seems to be a successful install, no edits to files in my cpanel file manager are showing on my blog. For example, I have enabled multisite within the wp-config.php file, but when I go to my blog admin page, “enable network” still doesn’t show up in tools. I also uploaded a couple of themes within the wp-content file and they are also not showing up when logged into wordpress. I feel like I am missing something very basic. Help for a n00b?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’ve upgraded to WordPress.com so that I can have file access and actually have control of code.
WordPress.com is actually the reverse – you don’t have file or code access here. You can only access files and code directly with a self-hosted site.
I recommend you have a look at our support document which outlines the differences between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress.org sites, since it sounds like there’s a bit of confusion.
I also uploaded a couple of themes within the wp-content file and they are also not showing up when logged into wordpress.
Your WordPress.com dashboard and your self-hosted dashboard are completely separate things. There is no ability to upload plugins or themes in the WordPress.com dashboard, nor any ability to activate multisite.
Just let me know if help clear things up any further.

No worries. :-) These forums are for WordPress.com sites only, so if you need help with your self-hosted site, do feel free to post in the WordPress.org support forums here:
