Setting up email address on mac and IPhone

  how do i set up my email address with wordpress.com? I’ve purchased my domain name on Hostgator and set up an email address with them. Since swapping to wordpress.com, I’ve changed nameservers but it’s still not letting me set up an email address. Please help!!!!

  I’ve mapped my domain and have tried to get help from the hostgator support team. They said I need tell wordpress.com records to go to them for the mail. His exact words were “I’m afraid that you will need to contact wordpress, the records are a mess, but you need them to show you what records are needed to get the domain over to them. “

  I have no idea what this means, obviously I’m new to this whole thing, I just want to get it up and running as soon as possible.

  Have you signed up with Hostgator for email service in addition to registering your domain with them?

  On WordPress.com we do not provide email hosting, but you can connect email hosting from another provider to your custom domain. Here are instructions for using email with your custom domain:

  Add Email

  If you already have email service with Hostgator, you just need to ask Hostgator for your MX records. Once you have those, you can enter them here at WordPress.com to finish setting up your email. (I can help you with that step if you would like.)
