Settingup parked domain
-
I just transferred over culturegroove.com from Bluehost to WordPress. I need to park it at bollygroove.com. So not an add-on but a parked domain on bollygroove.com. I don’t want to mess this up. I have the Business plan, but the chat is not connecting me to one of your happiness engineers, so I am posting here. Thanks!

I understand you’d like culturegroove.com to point to your WordPress.com site bollygroove.com, and I want to clarify the best way to do this safely.
Since culturegroove.com is currently hosted somewhere else and not with WordPress.com, the connection needs to be made from the domain’s DNS settings at your hosting provider for culturegroove.com, which is HostMonster.
You have two options, depending on how you’d like the domain to behave:
Option 1: Redirect the domain (simplest option)
You can set up a domain redirect at HostMonster so that anyone visiting culturegroove.com is automatically sent to bollygroove.com. This keeps everything managed at HostMonster and avoids any changes to your WordPress.com site.Option 2: Point the domain to WordPress.com and add it to your site
If you’d like WordPress.com to manage the domain connection, you can update the domain’s name servers and DNS records at HostMonster to point to WordPress.com, then add culturegroove.com to your bollygroove.com site as an additional domain. These guides walk through both approaches step by step:
- Custom DNS setup: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/custom-dns/
- Changing name servers: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/
If you’re unsure which option is right for you, starting with a redirect is usually the safest and quickest approach.
