Several days' work – Lost

  • Unknown's avatar

I have been working for several days on a blog post. I had a draft, and was working on it this morning. At one point I tried to add media, and got a message it could not be uploaded. Then I went to my media and it said I have none (I have much!). The bottom left-hand corner of the draft said ‘saved.’ So I decided to close up and come back to it. When I came back it was GONE! All gone! , except for the title and tags. It said it was last saved on May 24 (today is the 27th). How can I recover it? What did I do wrong, or did I?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Also, what is the title of the missing post?

Thank you. I found the “last” revision, but it didn’t include most of my revisions that followed. It had been a while since I had worked on any posts, and things have changed at WordPress that I don’t seem to be as familiar with as I should be. I must not be saving drafts properly. Before I closed the draft in my browser, I saw the word “saved” in the lower left-hand corner and assumed it had been saved. But it apparently wasn’t.

How do I make sure that a draft is saved?

The title (you asked in another reply) is: HOW I FOUND MY LEVENSOHN IMMIGRATION RECORDS (HINT: THEY WEREN’T LEVENSOHN)

I’m going to go back and try to re-do what was lost. Meanwhile, I’m afraid to close my browser, for fear of losing things again.

  • Are you using the newer editor or the older classic “dashboard” editor?

I think I switch back and forth, so I would like to know how to save in either case. Thank you.
