Sharing buttons don't show

    I’ve enabled sharing buttons but they don’t appear. I’ve done this on my other blog and had no problem. Could it be the theme I’m using? The theme is Nucleare.

    Hi,
    Your About page displays several sharing buttons, including Facebook, Twitter, Press This, Email, and More buttons, in addition to the Like button. However, your posts page (front page) displays only Like buttons, while the single posts display only Like and Reblog buttons. The differences are almost certainly due to your settings at Settings > Sharing.
    Options to look at include:
    1. Show buttons on

    • Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results
    • Posts
    • Pages
    • Media
    • Projects

    2. WordPress.com Likes are

    • On for all posts
    • Turned on per post

    3. WordPress.com Reblog Button

    • Show the Reblog button on posts
    • Don’t show the Reblog button on posts

    Could it be the theme I’m using? The theme is Nucleare.

    When properly activated and enabled, sharing buttons will display regardless of the theme.

    Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results
    Posts
    Pages

    but they don’t show up.

    That’s odd. On individual posts and pages you can override the setting at Sharing Settings by unchecking “Show sharing buttons” in the Likes and Shares module, but this wouldn’t explain the absence of the sharing buttons from archives pages. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention.

    So each individual post page has a option to allow sharing buttons or not. For this post:

    Is it time to reimagine the sermon?

    …it was set to not display them. I have changed that and now you can see the buttons appear.

    If you are using the dashboard editor, you will find the option down at the bottom of the page. If you are using the new editor, you will see the option on the left hand sidebar.

    @ rootjosh,
    I didn’t find sharing buttons on archives pages such as https://faithgeeks.wordpress.com/category/sermons-reimagined/ when I looked previously, though they are present now. So how does enabling sharing buttons on a post, or on multiple posts, cause them to appear on archives pages?

    That should be controlled with the “Show buttons on – Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results” mentioned earlier.

    If you test this and find that the control ISN’T working, let me know. But for the moment, given that I’m not hearing other reports of the issue, I’m just going to chalk that aspect up to glitch or confusion.

    Thanks for your help. I was able to go back through my last four or five post pages and check the option to share. But all my previous posts beyond them already had the option checked so I’m not sure why the default changed to unchecking the buttons. Anyway, now I will make sure when I post that the sharing buttons are checked on the posting page.

    Hi, I am having the same problem and have gone into each page and post and under screen options selected -show on screen – likes and shares, and then at the bottom checked show sharing buttons.

    The blog I need help with: hudsonbaybelugas.wordpress.com

    I would just like sharing buttons on the main page and posts under the telemetry maps page.
