sharing to Twitter
-
Hi! It used to be when creating a new blog entry and sharing a post which would/could auto share to Twitter, it would show the title heading, an image if included and a preview of the post! But, I just created and shared a blog on WordPress which auto shared to Twitter BUT all it shows is the title and the link to the blog – no image, no preview! Why? I use the free version, and have a blank canvass – I have a few different blogs which all USED to work like mentioned, but now they don’t preview the blog entry!

Hi there!
Are you referring to the blog post titled Stay Tuned? I noticed it doesn’t have a featured image, which would be the reason for Twitter not fetching any link previews/images.
Please follow the instructions here to add a featured image to your blog post: https://wordpress.com/support/featured-images/
Also, please note that after a link is shared on Twitter once, it will not fetch any updated content until the cache for the link preview expires at Twitter’s end. If you’d like Twitter to pull the updated link preview (such as the featured image) before tweeting the link again, please use the card validator here: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
When you use that tool, it forces Twitter to fetch a new preview (image, title, etc.) for the link. However, note that the new preview will work when you tweet the link again. It won’t update the tweets that are already sent.
Hope that helps!
