Why the shopping cart disappears after updating the changes? I have not had this issue before and I have done the suggestions like clearing cache and cookies and changing browsers and all that but still no change. Please help. Thank you.

If you’re referring to “katayoondesigns.wordpress.com.”, shopping carts are not permitted and any such code would be stripped out for security reasons.

Maybe I explained it the wrong way. I’m sure it is allowed because I’m already using it for my other items. I have copied the code that e-junkie gives me and paste it and then it shows the ‘add to cart’ button there but lately I haven’t been able to do it. When I paste it, it first shows the button, but when I try to ‘update’ to save my changes, it just disappears.

Shopping carts are not permitted. If somehow you’ve gotten away with it so far, well, awesome, but ecommerce code is normally stripped out here exactly as you are finding.

ecommerce is easy on a WordPress.ORG site.

That is strange! I suppose something is either accepted/doable or is not. When I have done it more than 10 times before, I assume it must be possible again. Don’t know. Thank you for the replies anyway. I hope I get more replies :)

Why? I’m simply asking for help here! I have seen others having this issue when I Googled it and for some, clearing the cache and cookies helped them but not for me, so I’m hoping someone can tell me what to do.

Actually, staff does allow X number of infractions before lowering the boom when it comes to affiliate links, etc. This is standard procedure. I’ve been here six years and seen it the entire time as a pattern.

Nothing you can do here will solve the problem. You will need to get paid hosting like any other ecommerce business, transfer your content, and go from there. I have both Wp.com and WP.org sites and know what I’m talking about.

It doesn’t really look like affiliate links, but it isn’t really ‘self created’ either which would be allowed.

The selection of an item apparently takes you to some third party site though which I’m pretty sure is not allowed.

Ecommerce has never formally been supported here, not even Etsy.

Then I guess I will have to go back to blogspot. Thank you for your time :)
