Should I transfer my domain name?

    Should I leave my domain name with GoDaddy or let WordPress manage it?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    To be sure I understand, you have a domain with GoDaddy that you are trying to add to your WordPress.com site, to replace the default URL of webbtechindustries.wordpress.com yes?

    If so that option is included in all our plans, but if you upgrade to the yearly version of our plans (not monthly) they include a free domain transfer, as well we add a free year of registration once the transfer is complete. If you have a single URL we usually recommend you transfer, as that will consolidate your billing for renewals here at WordPress.com, so you don’t have to remember to renew with two different companies.

    However, if you manage several domains and prefer to keep them all under one provider, that is not a problem. In that event you can add our settings to your domain with it’s current provider and then you can use that domain as your site address here. In that event you will just need to remember to keep renewing your domain with GoDaddy so your WordPress.com site stays online at that URL.
