Showing title of password protected post

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear Friends,
I want to make a post password-protected, BUT I want the title to be visible for all. Like this:
    “I have a secret! I have a secret”
message the admin to see full post

    Can this be done?

    Thank You
    Susan

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • That is generally how it works.

    Here’s a screenshot: https://d.pr/i/VmQQtw

In that example, “Lorem Ipsum” is the post’s.

If it’s not working that way for you, would you please let us know the title of the post or page with the problem?

I tested it and it worked fine. Thank You. But the only problem is that the title is very long, “I have a secret. Password protected. Message the admin for the password to gain access”
any ideas for a more elegant way to deal with this?

  • Hi there,

I don’t believe there would be an easy way to deal with this – the first thing that comes to mind would be to remove the word Protected from the site title via CSS since you have the Premium Plan.

However, Protected is contained in the same HTML element as the page title, so using a snippet will remove the entire title. There may be a roundabout/hacky way to accomplish this via CSS, but that would be outside of the scope of support we provide here in the forums.

With that being said, is this what you are seeing when you create the title? It doesn’t look very long from my end:
