  How to I set up a side menu so that I can organise my poems in years written? Thanks

  Hi there,

  The Geologist theme you’re using doesn’t have a widget area.

  As far as I know, this theme has been made to work with the full-site-editor feature that’s coming in WordPress 5.9 which is coming out next month. Once that’s launched you should be able to use the site editor to create your own widget area. But at the moment that’s not possible yet.

  However, you can also add that Archive widget to a regular post or page. So my suggestion for now is to create a new page on your site. Title it “Archive” or “Index”, and add the archive block to that page instead. Then add the page to your menu so people can find it.

  Not right now, as your theme doesn’t support a widget area.

  Once the new Site Editor feature is launched in WordPress 5.9, you should be able to create your own widget area for the theme, and then add the widget there. But WordPress 5.9 is only due for release towards the end of January.

  If you want to use sidebar widgets right away, you’ll need to switch to another theme that supports this feature.
