Need help: when I signed up for my wordpress.com blog today, I also paid to have my own domain created (vearuthdesigns.com). However, that domain seems to not exist yet (5 hours later) and I am unsure why. Any help or suggestions? Does this just take some time?

Yeah, I’m not seeing it either. If you go to settings > domains, does it list the domain name there?

On the time thing, yes. It can take up to 72 hours (worst case), but typically it is much less (24 or less). How soon you will see it is dependent on how often your ISP updates their nameserver caches. Some do it very frequently and some only less so.

It looks like your registration failed – you need to get a refund from WordPress.COM and go through the registration process again – this does seem to happen from time to time but the staff has been real good about refunds – someone has flagged this for the staff and they do watch the forum
there should be a refund button on your dashboard Dashboard >> Store
