signed up some months ago, can't reset / actualize my old settings

  hi wordpress team. i signed up in april 2013 under the username ithanea in the setting of a university course, where we created a blog (mobilespielewiese). the course is over, i wanted to delete my account, but i couldn’t. so i changed my username to a nonsense name (ghghxx), because i didn’t want my usual online nickname to be found on a dead blog. now – in the meantime totally forgot my old account – i wanted to start my own blog, tried to sign up as ithanea, but the name was taken. so i remembered, logged in with the e-mail adress i used back then and tried to change back my name in ithanea (because it must be free, i could’t find another ithanea in wordpress), but it says the name is already taken.
  i just want my old account with my old name back, otherwise i’d have to create a new one and this one would stay dead forever in the www. what can i do?

  When you change a username at WordPress.com, your old username is deleted and can’t ever be used again by you or anyone else. We do our best to warn you about this when you change your username, and on this support page: Change Your Username

  You’re welcome to change your username ghghxx to a different name, if you’d like. Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
