Site Deleted – Unprotected contact form

Last February I discovered the webhotel access to my website had been suspended. I contacted my hosting provider and they told me that my website’s contact form had been used for email spam (it was not protected by a CAPTCHA) and that, probably, some non-updated plugins might have had a role in triggering the suspension too.
I have tried to address this by accessing my blog, but discovered that my WordPress site has also been deleted. I have seen that my hosting company has a saved copy of my blog dating the moment they went on with the suspension.
Do you know know if a restoration is possible, how and by whom?

The site I need help with is franzjessen.eu. It is not hosted by WordPress.com or connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

If your host can restore a backup, then use .htaccess to set up authenticated login so that only you can access the site (they’ll know what I mean), you can work through some steps to clean it up.
You could also install a fresh copy of WordPress, move the data over, then re-add themes and plugins. It’s a bit of a process either way. If you need to hire someone, while it’s not something we do, the folks here may be able to refer you to someone.

Generally, running regular backups and keeping your plugins and theme(s) up to date will be helpful. There are also plugins you can install to help with security. Just be sure to keep backup codes and what not just in case you need them.
