Site Domain Issues

    Hello, I have an issue with my sites’ domains that I’m trying to solve.

    I have two wordpress sites–one at selamgano.wordpress.com and another at tryingmyvest.home.blog. I tried to upgrade my second site (tryingmyvest) to an upgraded plan with the domain tryingmyvest.com, however, I accidentally updated the first site (selamgano) to the new domain. I canceled my upgraded plan immediately in an attempt to fix the problem.

    Now my original blog (selamgano.wordpress.com) maps to tryingmyvest.com with the page ‘this domain is parked’. I can’t recover the tryingmyvest.com domain for the blog I actually want to use it for (tryingmyvest) and my original personal website (selamgano) isn’t functional since selamgano.wordpress.com redirects to the static ‘this domain is parked’ page.

    Is there any way I can resolve this issue? it is somewhat urgent. Most importantly I need to restore my original site (selamgano.wordpress.com) to its original domain (selamgano.wordpress.com) so that it can properly function. Second and somewhat less urgent, I would like to recover the tryingmyvest.com domain if possible and use it for what is currently tryingmyvest.home.blog.

    Hi there,

    I canceled my upgraded plan immediately in an attempt to fix the problem.

    Cancelling a plan does not fix anything, and cancelling a domain means you give up ownership of the domain.

    If you buy a domain for the wrong site you can easily move it yourself to a different site as explained in https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-a-domain-to-another-wordpress-com-account/, and you can use the live chat support included in your plan to contact support so we can move the plan to the correct site for you.

    As you’ve already been refunded for your plan as well, please buy a new plan for the correct site, and let us know here once you’ve done that so we can restore the domain.

    Most importantly I need to restore my original site (selamgano.wordpress.com) to its original domain (selamgano.wordpress.com) so that it can properly function.

    That site went back to using the free address the moment you cancelled the domain. If you’re being redirected when trying to visit that site, please clear your browser cache.
