site is not found in google searches
-
Hi the blog I am trying to build does not show up in any google searches even when I enter the full URL into google it still does not find it, same result from Alta Vista and other search engines, the blog just does not show up at all unless I enter the URL into the address field in mozilla or IE. The site exists but no one will find it currently, if anyone can help it would be most appreciated :)
Site is fairly banal and devoted to sewing and crafts. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
I believe this article will provide all that you need as well as 10 factors that tend to expedite your blog being indexed by search engines.
OMG! I can’t find my blog on Google -
Hi Auxclass & Timethief thanks for the reply,
the site is at http://allegroeintroppo.wordpress.com/
harrindimensionx is only the user name now, I have done the google verification thing using a meta tag in the header, but still no luck :)Will check out the link you sent Timethief, thanks

correct Timethief, I’m an idiot, I had the “do not index” checkbox checked instead of allow search engines to index, have fixed it now.
Thanks very much for the pointers :) -
You also don’t have any content on your site – WordPress.COM calls the search engines when you make a new Post and says “new Post – come on by”
You can’t do a meta-tag in the header for Google verification – you need to use the Alt. method as described in the web master tools instructions here that should be in the link from @timethief
-
And you don’t even have to verify your blog with Google for it to get indexed. What search engines need is a sitemap, and all wp.com blogs have a built-in sitemap. But it takes days or weeks before search engines index a new blog. And it takes publishing posts as well, as auxclass already suggested.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I have not done any posts yet, just a few pages to build from. I will do some posts and be patient,
I did use the recommended method using the alt method and when I view the source I can see it in the <head> section ok, but probably not needed as panaghiotisdam sugests.
Thanks very much for your help :) -
I used to have a .ORG install of WordPress and I could see the bots stop by – when I first started using WordPress software it took a couple of hours for Google to stop by – now they stop by in a few minutes for my main site – but I have a site that has now been around for a while – is getting traffic and has a significant amount of content – all of which helps the search engines to pay more attention to my site.
-
Thanks for that Auxclass, I will have to get some posts up and some relevant content and see how it goes. :)
