Site Launching
-
I’m trying to launch my site to preview it online. I want to use the .wordpress.com which I believe is free. But when I click launch it gives me the option of paying for a domain name. On the bottom it says ‘skip purchase’ to continue using the .wordpress.com but when I click that the page is blank and doesn’t reload.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hello there,
Can you confirm the site being worked on please?
The reason being is that it looks like the site: https://badstationsituation.wordpress.com/ has been deleted. Is this intentional?
Many thanks.

Hi. I changed the name of the site. I’m working on trying to make it a privately shared site which is why I did not share the name in the forum. It is possible to make it admin only is that correct?

Hello there,
Ok, so is the intended address meant to be: https://thesituationarchieves.wordpress.com/ ? If yes, it looks like that was successful.
To set a site private, this can be done via Site > Settings > General > scroll down to the privacy section.
I hope this helps!

Thank you! So the Privacy setting doesn’t show up in General yet. And I can’t seem to launch the site. When I click launch it just doesn’t work.

So the Privacy setting doesn’t show up in General yet.
That’s correct. You won’t see that setting until you launch your site.
If you’re clicking Launch from your Dashboard, we’d like you to try a couple things first:
1. Log out of your account and back in again and try to launch the site. You can log out via https://wordpress.com/me
2. Try a different browser than the one you’re currently using.
If you still have trouble, let us know what operating system and browser (and the versions of each) you’re using and we’ll take a closer look.
Thanks!

Does the site have to be launched in order to share with admins? That makes the site no longer a free set up right?
-
Hmm… I’m not sure I understand. https://thesituationarchieves.wordpress.com/ is launched and now a public website. Anyone can visit it at this point.
However, if you want to set your site to “Private” while you work on it further, you can “invite” others to view the non-public site. Currently you are the only admin but you can invite other contributors by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/#adding-and-removing-viewers-on-a-private-site
