Site Migration to WordPress Quote
-
Hi WP Team,
I’m looking to potentially shift my current site to WordPress and would like to understand what the potential costs might be given the site has Streaming/eLearning, eCommerce, and Bookings/Classes components to the web page.
Who is best to contact for this?

All of what you described can be easily accomplished with various plugins, but you will need either a Business or eCommerce Plan to use plugins: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
-
Awesome – can one easily upgrade from Business to an eCommerce plan at any point, and if so how immediate is the effect of the upgrade.

Amazing.
Last question (I hope); our aim is to migrate away from Kentico CMS, which is not so flexible and requires considerable dev resources, in favor of WP which should require fewer dev resources.
Do you have a list of approved/preferred development partners and a pricing sheet? Or at least can point me in the right direction?

You likely won’t need any developer help here, we’re pretty easy to use, and have support available: https://wordpress.com/learn/
If you do ever need to hire someone, we recommend https://jetpack.pro/

Ok great. And to confirm, are you saying “you likely won’t need any developer help” in regards to migration and/or maintenance and upkeep?

Our managed hosting environment is designed so that you’re able to create and manage the site on your own with out having to pay someone else.
The itty bitty details that go on behind the scenes are handled by us. Things like backups, and SEO are built in to WordPress.com. We are always close by to answer questions and help out.
The entire site can be moved over with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/
All you have to do is go to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and add the business plan to your account. Then you can install that plugin and get going. Our live chat support team is accessible to you 24/7 with that business plan as well. Chat can be started by going to https://wordpress.com/help/contact/
The business plan also includes your domain, hosting, and support as mentioned.
Write back to me here with any other questions about getting started.

With your managed hosting option, would Cloudflare still be required on our end in order to host our media services, or could we deprecate that contract?
-
Hi @owengraymco, we have our own CDN that will work automatically with your media.
I wanted to clarify something too on the developer aspect — if you had someone custom build your old site, and you need the new site to match look and custom functions exactly, you might want a WordPress developer to help you get it up and going. But we do take care of maintenance for you, and ongoing support for WordPress and our hosting. Hoping that helps :)

Awesome.
Do you have a pricing sheet for WP CDN costs?
I assume also through jetpack.com we could likely find a developer to help us with the migration?

Our own CDN is built-in, no separate cost. :)

Through https://jetpack.pro/ not .com. :)
