    Hi,

A widget may contain an image or text that links to one or another URL internally or externally. In some cases it may contain a list of such links. Which widget to use depends upon the purpose. What do you want to link to in your widgets?

once clicked i want that to take the user to where the link says it goes.

Do you want the link URL to be visible?

Ive figured out how to get the menus on the page now. Im going to use widgets so i dont clutter the menu bar. So itll be just whatever im thinking of as a menu to a blog page of mine or maybe a link to another site if need be. Need to properly read up on URLs as ive forgotton what bit of acronyms i knew

Thanks for the reply Sent from my iPhone

You’re welcome. The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the address of a page or post. The URL of this forum topic is https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/site-navigation-4?

I suggest that you read the Widgets support page. It includes links (in the right sidebar) to support pages for all of the available widgets. Some of the more popular widgets include the following:

    • Search
    • Archives
    • Links (which displays links in the Links Menu or Blogroll)
    • Recent Posts
    • Categories
    • Top Posts & Pages
    • Text

The Text Widget is the most versatile, because it is constructed from scratch. It is empty until you insert HTML code in it.
