Site no longer needed, but JetPack won't stop

    Hi,

I had a website 5936downing.com that I had my WP account connected to via the JetPack plugin. I no longer needed the site and let it expire on hosting. The hosting company just today took the site down, and now I am getting Jetpack Monitoring emails every 5 minutes. However, when I log into my account in WP, since the site no longer exists, it doesn’t show up in my list of sites for me to disconnect it from WordPress. Please help me stop the emails!

  • Hi there,

Did you disconnect Jetpack and/or disable the Monitor module prior to the hosting expiring? If not, these messages continue to be sent since the system on our end doesn’t know the difference between a site being down due to hosting problems or if it’s down because you chose to take it down.

I’ve made some changes on our end to stop the notices, so you should no longer receive Jetpack Monitor emails.

    Awesome, thank you!

I did not disable/disconnect Jetpack. To be honest, I never thought about it. I had huge issues with my hosting company auto-charging after I told them to stop, so it was a quick disconnect when I could.

I now know for the future, and for all of my other sites!

    Thank you again.

  • I understand you were just focused on getting away from them. I would have as well :)
