Site Re-direct

    I am currently using the free plan through WordPress, that includes the example.wordpress.com in the domain name. If I were to upgrade to a paid account in the future and remove the wordpress.com from my domain name, will people be automatically re-directed to my new site, even if they continue to enter the old example.wordpress.com domain name?

    Hi there,

    We automatically redirect the free WordPress.com address, yes. That address never goes away – your custom domain just get applied over it, and is what visitors will see in their browsers, but the free address continues to exist behind the scenes. If you ever remove the custom domain, the site will automatically go back to using the free address.
