Site stats discrepancy

I have recently installed google analytics and now have my first full day report (October 25).
There are some discrepancies between GA and Jetpack but one glaring one is for country view:Jetpack:
UK – 25
Spain -15
Ireland – 1
Portugal – 1GA:
USA – 66%
UK – 26%
Spain – 4%
Ireland – 2%
Portugal – 2%Was I getting visits from the USA?

Google Analytics and Jetpack does not track the same things, and not in the same way.
For a start, GA tracks visits by bots and web crawlers as well, unless you specifically tell it not to, while our stats block those by default. So the US visits you see in GA were likely coming from automated traffic sources.
Even if you block bot traffic in GA, there will always be a discrepancy between it and WordPress.com’s stats due to the differences in how the two services work. No two analytics services on the web will ever give you exactly the same data.
