Site stolen

  I administrate a website for an organization. The director emailed me today and said the site comes up with a white screen. I tried to login, and the site seems to have been hijacked…can’t get in with login info or the director’s email…what’s my course of action???

  Your site hasn’t been hijacked or stolen, it’s probably the White Screen of Death of a site using the open source wordpress.org. As your wordpress.com account doens’t have a site running on the wordpress.com platform, what is the URL of the ‘stolen’ site?

  That site is not a WordPress.com site.

  It’s using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, and it’s hosted with GoDaddy.com.

  Please contact GoDaddy support for help with this, and if they cannot help, you can reach support for the WordPress software itself at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
