site takes for ever to publish

    I started building a simple site yesterday on WordPress, because I wanted to share a lot of photos and videos with some people (all in all 60 Gig!). Websites like WeTransfer, Google Drive and TransferXL do not allow such quantities to be shared for free. I uploaded about 600 pictures (about 500 MB) to see how it goes, and hit “publish”.

    However, I am waiting now for a whole day and night and it is still busy publishing (at least, so it seems…), which means I cannot leave the page. And I was actually hoping to upload at least 20 Gig worth of videos!

    Any advice? Should I just abandon the effort?

    Hi there, free WordPressdotcom websites have 3GB storage available for media like photos and documents. https://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/

    If you want to upload 60GB of photos and videos, you would need to upgrade to our Business plan, which has unlimited storage. You can learn more about this here:
