site_inaccessible error
-
Hi,
I got the error “site_inaccessible”
which printed “Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 503].” below it.
Please see here for a screenshot: http://i50.tinypic.com/35l6jqf.jpg
I have updated to 2.0.4 and disabled simple facebook.
I recently changed the username of my wordpress.com account. Would this make a difference?

Solution was I had WP Maintenance Mode on! Of course it completely blocks Jetpack from accessing it publically. So expect it not to work when using some kind of maintenance mode. If there was some way to link my hosted WP and wordpress.com accounts so Jetpack would work even when in maintenance mode, that would be very useful

On a side note, it does work with WP Splash Image, which I thought may be the (or part of the) problem.

Glad you found the culprit, thanks for letting us know. Jetpack currently does require a site to be publicly accessible in order to function.
Thanks for letting us know about WP Splash Image, too.
