Sketch Theme Issues

  Hi. I have created 2 Portfolio Projects to work within the sketch theme, to display the way it does advertised in the live demo. However, they do not. I’ve also turned on the portfolio tab, I’ve played around with the static page and latest posts – which should it be? I’ve watched videos that say I need jetpack and yet that doesn’t seem to work with wordpress.com. I’m clearly missing something. I’ve also tagged the projects as featured and added feature images but neither are showing up in the slider. I’ve also gone to Featured content in the customiser but found there was no way to actually make this ‘happen’. This has been driving me nuts and I’m sure there’s something I’m missing that’s probably very obvious – it cannot be this difficult! In short, nothing is showing up on the home page.

  Hi,

  See the Sketch theme guide for information and instructions.

  A couple of hints:

  • The front page of the Sketch demo has a static front page with the Portfolio Page Template assigned to it.
  • The post, page, or portfolio project that you wish to display in the Featured Content Slider, must be assigned the same tag that you set as the featured content tag at Customize > Featured Content.

  I have been strugglling with Sketch theme for some time now. I have the portfolio section working, but I have no idea how I would get the slider working. I need to make some slider page? How do I set it up? I would like the projects showing up in slider (I did add tag & specified that), not blog posts. I need to tag a photo? What does “Create a post, page, or portfolio item with a Featured Image.” mean? How do I make featured images? I have made projects.

  I have been looking at those theme info pages, but I just don’t understand how I am supposed to set it up, I am totally stuck with this. As you can see I am totally confused with the instructions.

  And help appriciated. I think I need to change a theme, since this is not getting anywhere.
