Slideshow advance buttons
-
When viewing a published slideshow and hovering the cursor over it, as expected, buttons appear at the bottom of the image to advance to the previous/next photo or to pause the slideshow. However, instead of a right-pointing arrow to go forward, there is another pause symbol. Clicking the button on the right will still advance to the next photo, but it just has the wrong symbol. This is the case even after clearing my cache/cookies and for multiple slideshows (in old and recently published posts, as well as in the example slideshow displayed on WordPress’s Media/Slideshow support/FAQ page). Is this a known/widespread glitch? The buttons did not look wrong before this week. Thanks!

I’m not seeing what you are describing looking at a slideshow on my site or in the support FAQ. It does look as though the buttons got some finessing recently.
I’m using Chrome 20. What browser are you using?
-
Internet Explorer, Windows 8. We have an office blog, and other users in our office have reported the same thing, which is why I thought it might be widespread, but we all use the same browser. Thanks, justjennifer!

I’m going to go ahead and tag this for a Staff member. It may be the Windows8 thing, but it’d be good to have their input.

Thanks tt, I didn’t ask since they also mentioned that they see this behavior in the WordPress.com FAQ on slideshows.

Thanks, all. It’s IE8. And I do see this behavior even on the slideshow at http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/
