Smaller Photo for Widget Needed

I am using the Sela theme for my blog and attempting to set up a home page similar to the one shown on their demo. I have followed their detailed instructions on how to set up text widgets (which has worked very well). I cannot, however, find a way to make my selected image for the widget significantly smaller (so it doesn’t fill up the entire width of the home page.) How can I edit this picture’s size without using another program and reuploading the photo for use?

    Hi,

The size of the images and the width of the text area below the image will vary depending upon the number of front page widget areas you use on a page with the front page template assigned. The Sela demo uses all three front page widget areas. If you do so, then your images should be scaled and cropped to the same size as those in the demo, as long as you follow the followng recommendation from the Quick Specs section of the Sela theme guide:
The featured image on the front page and on pages works best with images at least 1180 [pixels] wide.

That quote should have been given as:

The featured image on the front page and on pages works best with images at least 1180 [pixels] wide.
