SMS 2-step authentication messages do not work any more – they stopped working

System fails fails fails to send me SMS 2-step authentication messages to my phone that is in my hand. I also tried a backup code TWICE and the system tells me that the session has expired, and the online help does not cater for this event either.

The system sends me around a repeat loop log in process that gets to the place where the system again fails fails fails to send an SMS message and fails fails fails to accept a backup code.

I can’t disable the SMS because the steps required to disable SMS 2-step authentication ALSO REQUIRE ME TO RECEIVE AN SMS 2-step authentication MESSAGE. Crazy

In order to log in this time, I wiped all cookies, cleaned the Firefox browser cache and I WAS FORCED TO USE A BACKUP CODE TO GET LOG IN Because this is the only way to get logged in.

How can I fix this nonsense?
I want the failing SMS 2-step authentication eliminated so that I can log in without any trauma.

That’s when you need the backup codes you got when you set up 2FA. Just use a backup code instead of a sms code.

Instead of a sms code switch to using an authenticator app.
